One stopped half way (planned) and another disappeared somewhere along the way! - A total of around 70km covered in total - about 2hrs 40 mins.
Thank you again to all who have contributed via here or directly to Rainbows. It means so much to us in the Donegani family

We've just completed another swim for Rainbows - a bit different this time, with five of us with links to Rainbows making up a team to swim as a relay and see how far we can do in an hour, along side other teams. We managed 160 lengths - 4K in just under and hour - while the enthusiastic DJ played his music and kept us all entertained with his actions on the poolside!
December 2018
The date is set; the pool is booked; excuses have been made by some; and once again we will be doing our 12 Days' swim. As in previous years all participants will swim 364 lengths (9.1k) each, one for each of the gifts of the 12 days of Christmas.
Once again your gifts for the fantastic Rainbows Children's & Young Peoples hospice are very welcome . . .
. . . and anyone out there who wants to do it with us, just turn up!
December 2017
We're already talking about our 2017 '12 days Christmas swim' and will soon be fixing the date. We don't do it over twelve days, but in one session - a total of 9.1km - or 364 lengths.
Once again, any money we raise goes to the fantastic Rainbows Children and Young People's Hospice here in Loughborough.
Thank you to all who have contributed so far.
December 2016
Christmas is fast approaching and once again we are doing our '12 days of Christmas' swim. - a total of 364 lengths and total of 9.1km - (1x12 lengths, 2x11 lengths, 3x10 lengths . . all the way to 12 x 1 length) - and every swimmer does the total distance
If you want to join us, get in touch, but if not, just sponsor us - it all goes to the fantastic Rainbows Children's Hospice.
We've passed the previous target by 30% so I've raise it again - and it all goes directly to Rainbows.
December 2015
Another year has passed and Christmas 2015 is fast approaching - which means it's nearly time for the 'Christmas swim', an idea dreamt up by one of us (who shall remain nameless - but is getting cold feet about doing it this year!)
A number us who regularly meet up to swim at lunch times are once again swimming the '12 days of Christmas' - it sounds reasonably straightforward, but when adding it all up it comes to 364 lengths, or 9.1km, or about the swimming equivalent of a marathon, with each participant swimming the total distance.
So why not join us and support us in raising some funds for the Rainbows Hospice for children and young people - a fantastic local charity.
We'll be commencing the feat about midday on Thursday 17th December at the university pool. You could even come and join us, but be warned - it's not for the feint hearted!
(The 'Loughborough Lunch Timers' consist of a number of past it and not-so-past-it swimmers who occasionally compete in Masters events and in recent years have achieved a number of national titles and more - including a world record on one occasion)
