Story

In September 2010, twofootedtackle.com announced that we were teaming up with a charity partner, Cardiac Risk in the Young.

CRY was launched in 1995 by Alison Cox MBE to raise awareness of conditions that can lead to sudden cardiac death and sudden death syndrome in apparently fit and healthy young people. As you can imagine, these are conditions that affect young sportspeople and many footballers have sadly lost their lives due to heart conditions that instinct tells us healthy people shouldn't develop.

As the partnership continues, TFT will help to promote CRY where possible as well as encouraging readers to donate and organising fundraising activity of our own. This page will be updated with new activity whenever it occurs.

To begin with, we want to challenge you, our readers, to help us make an introductory donation of £1,000. We're not asking a lot - in fact, we're only asking you to donate two pounds.

Being able to send £1,000 into CRY's coffers would be an immense source of pride for everyone at TFT. Your generosity is most appreciated.

Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by the sudden cardiac death. We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.
