For over 30 years, Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) has been reaching out to Palestinian communities, striving to deliver health and medical care to those worst affected by conflict, occupation and displacement.

MAP provides immediate medical aid to those in need at times of crisis, while also developing local capacity and skills to ensure the long-term development of the Palestinian healthcare system.

MAP are also committed to bearing witness to the impact of occupation, displacement and conflict on Palestinian health and wellbeing, and campaign for the realisation of Palestinian rights to health and dignity.

To raise money in support of this charity and it's vital work, activists from across the North West have set themselves the challenge of climbing some of the highest peaks in Donegal in the same day.

On September 12th, we will climb Muckish and Errigal mountains. We hope to raise as much as possible. Please consider giving what you can. No matter what the amount, it will all add up and will be greatly appreciated.

£100 could help to buy emergency medical supplies, such as antibiotics. £250 could help to pay for specialist treatment for a child with serious burns. £50 could help to pay for hygiene kits for families displaced in Gaza.

MAP makes a huge difference. The projects MAP supports can mean the difference between life and death. See below for a few examples of what MAP are able to do:

  • MAP is able to get essential medicines to hospitals in Gaza when they are at zero stock and have run out
  • MAP are able to give a Palestinian woman living in refugee camp in Lebanon the one-to-one attention of a midwife to help her through her difficult pregnancy
  • MAP equip people living in remote communities in the Jordan Valley with the expertise to provide basic life-saving skills in the event of a serious injury, to stabilise the injured until they can get medical help
