Tye's Everest Expedition Endeavour

Everest Expedition · 16 February 2019
One of my personal goals this year was to do something for charity - something epic, potentially dangerous.😜.
That said, I'm both excited and nervous to be heading to Nepal next Winter on a mountaineering expedition that will see me summiting Nangkartshang Peak (5,100 metres above sea level), whilst also taking the 14-day trek into Everest Base Camp (17,600ft above sea level).
I think it's so important to invest in small, local-based charities and so I'm hoping I'll be able to raise a little money for the Everybody Foundation which is a Cheshire-based charity run by Everybody Sport & Recreation, which helps to promote health and active living - aswell as supporting young athletes - within the Cheshire community, a cause I truly believe in. On a personal note, I've always considered mountains a microcosm for life: there's highs, lows, and the inevitable obstacles that one must overcome, so I'm really hoping that by doing this - and stepping way beyond my comfort zone - I can help show just one person that if you persevere and you just don't give up, you will reach your summit, whatever that summit may be.
Onwards!
