Hello!  My name is Tyler and in July 2017, I was diagnosed with Lupus.

The condition basically means my immune system is being a bit of a pain and is trying to attack all of my organs - mostly my joints, skin, eyes and kidneys.

I went from a fit and active person who trained in the gym and spent every day exploring and adventuring - to a person who couldn't even get out of bed in the middle of the night.

But thanks to the beautiful NHS, some medication and a can-do, f*ck-it attitude - I'm back to where I was and BETTER. 

My life has come full circle, and I'm now happier, more positive, determined and thirsty for life than EVER before. I'm ready to grab every challenge, opportunity and hurdle life throws at me and kick the arse out of it.

My recovery has a lot to do with my amazing boyfriend Scott - who's supported me through everything and more, with a big smile on his face and a take-no-shit, get-up-and-at-them attitude. 

That being said, we've both decided to take on our own challenges to raise money for Lupus UK this year. 

On September 15, 2019 Scott will be taking on Ironman Tenby. 

One of the toughest races in the world, he'll be taking on a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike ride and a 26.2 mile marathon - within 17 hours.

And he can't even swim yet! 

The day before, on September 14, I'll also be taking part in Saundersfoot Triathlon. 

As well as it being our first ever triathlons, this will also be the first major fitness challenge I've taken on since being diagnosed with Lupus. 

* We've also added another two events to the 2019 calendar:
- SUP (stand-up paddle-board) Mountain Bike & Trail Run (SupBikeRun) in May 🌊🚴
- Tough Runner 10k trail in July 🏃

We want to prove that anything is possible 💪👊

* I'm also taking part in these events as a thank you to everyone who donated to Velindre Cancer Centre in 2017. 
I unfortunately had to call off my charity trek to Peru due to my illness, but I hope this will prove how grateful I am for all of your donations! All together we managed to raise £1,329.66 for people battling cancer.
