JOLT 2016 · 22 March 2016

For the past 25 years, the JoLt Trust has taken countless disadvantaged, ill and disabled teenagers on journeys of a lifetime. During these month-long expeditions to remote places like Alaska and the Andes they learn confidence, trust, respect, self-worth and teamwork.

My name is Tyler I caught Kawaski Disease when I was 8 months old.  It means I now have aneurysms large ones on both my coronary arteries and I have to take warfarin (blood thinner) and aspirin every day.  It hasnt been easy living with this condition and I am very restricted in many ways.  I cant play football or contact sports and other stuff I wont go into.

My teacher Mrs Davies at school nominated me to take part in Journey of a Lifetime 2016 she said I cope really well with my condition and she is impressed.  There were 100s of children who were nominated I was shortlisted to 69 children.  Mum took me to London for an interview and I was shortlisted out of 69 to 28 children who get the opportunity to go to Indonesia and Australia for 5 weeks expedition.  I would never be able to do this with my mum or alone as the Jolt Trust take specially trained doctors/nurses so kids like me can actually go on this trip.

It costs £5,500 for each child to go on the trip so I am fundraising.  Jolt ask for a contribution of £650 more if possible so I would like to fundraise as much as I can to help the Jolt Trust continue providing this opportunity to children like me who would never be able to do this without their help.

Im really excited but also a bit nervous, ive never been anywhere alone because of my condition.  But, I know we will all support each other on the trip, and the doctors/nurses will be on hand.

Please help me raise as much money as I can we have some events planned and by just buying a ticket or donating an item you are helping me reach my goal.  I hope to reach £650, a £1000 would be better as it would help the Trust much more.  I know I have a short time to raise this money so I need to get moving with ideas.

Thank you so much for your help I really do appreciate it I couldnt do this without your help and support.
