Yorkshire Warrior · 4 July 2021

TyphoonsRUFC is Lancashire's first inclusive rugby club. We provide a great way to access men's rugby union, or touch rugby for mixed genders. We promote the health and wellbeing benefits associated with team sports. All abilities, backgrounds, shapes, sizes, genders and sexualities welcome.

Story

On July 4th several members of the team are taking on the challenge of the Yorkshire warrior 10k obstacle race across tough Yorkshire countryside with hills, bogs, rivers crossings, lake crossings, slides, barbed wire, electric fence, crawling, climbing, log carrying, tyre carrying and much more!

With Co-vid dampening our fundraising events in the past this allows for a fantastic opportunity to raise much needed funds.

Which will allow for wider participation in sporting events some members would be financially unable to attend.

Typhoons RUFC is Lancashire’s first and only inclusive rugby team. Launched in 2017, the team has grown to over 80 members across touch and union teams.

As an inclusive club we are established to encourage LGBTQ+ people to engage in sport and to build strong relations across all strands of diversity within our community and to improve the physical and mental health of all our members.
