Food Parcels and Baby Milk - Athens, Chios (Greec) and Iraq · 18 May 2020

A grassroots charity based in Wrexham who offer a sanctuary where refugees and asylum seekers can get support, friendship and opportunities to progress from surviving to thriving. We are the missing friend and neighbour. We need funds to support our lunches & projects.

Story

As you know we are doing what we can during the COVID crisis to help overseas by buying or using funds in the countries.

We want to keep helping, we have sent £1000 for food in Athens in total to Pampiraiki and Khora - both delivering food packs and cooking meals for refugees. And we sent $500 to buy milk for babies in Iraq (Sinjar and Sunone hospitals) for the paediatric department, for mums who are too malnourished or traumatised to breastfeed and cannot afford milk.

What does your donation do?

£7 ($8) buys a tin of baby milk powder for a baby in Iraq in hospital or in an living in a tent, 6 years on from the ISIS massacre of the Yezidis in Sinjar.

£10 helps towards the 100 food  packs made each week by the Chios People's kitchen for vulnerable refugee families on Chios island, Greece, an island whose camp is way over capacity with very poor conditions

£15 helps towards food distributions to camps around Athens, to help sustain children and families with nourishing food.

We know its hard times but please if you can help someone who doesn't even have a safe home during this uncertain time we would be so grateful, and grateful if you cannot donate then please as great is to share our fundraiser.
