Story

Starting Monday 27th April University of Bristol Ladies Hockey Club members are each running 50, 75 or 100km in a 2 week period to raise money for Women's Aid.

Women's Aid is the national charity for women and children working to end domestic abuse. Since lockdown started there has been a 25% increase in calls to domestic abuse helplines. Women's aid have experienced a huge surge in demand for their services and they need support to be able to maintain their longer hours for online chat services to support victims.
Home is a safe place for many of us but women living with abuse are currently at a huge risk and are trapped by their perpetrators. With our help we can support women reaching out for the first time, help women get the support they need and give women a faster response at a critical time.
It is vital that we support these vulnerable women and help to end domestic violence.

As keen sports women we'd like to challenge ourselves physically whilst supporting women who are challenged everyday of their lives. Thank you for your support as all contributions will make a difference to the lives of many.
