The UCL EGA Institute for Women’s Health (IfWH), formed in 2004, brought together a number of UCL academic departments into a single group in a close collaboration with the Division of Women’s Health at University College London Hospital (UCLH). From the start, the objective of the Institute has been to make a real and sustainable difference to the health of women, babies and their families in the UK and internationally by delivering excellence and innovation in research, clinical practice, education and training. UCL is 4th in global medicine rankings for academic excellence. There is a variety of research by the Perinatal Care Group in stillbirth prevention, abnormal maternal glucose metabolism,  intrapartum care, operative birth, interprofessional training,  implementation research, and bereavement care.
