Story
This November, UCL Boat Club will be doing a 48 hour rowathon to raise money for both Mind and the club.
What is a rowathon?
The aim is to accumulate as many kilometers as possible. Rowers will take turns to row continuously, clocking up the kilometers on two rowing machines over the 48-hour period. Our Rowathon will be held in Covent Garden Market, meaning the public can get involved and help us clock up kilometres too. We'll be there from 4pm on Friday 23rd November to 4pm on Sunday 25th November if you want to come and support us.
Why are we doing this?
We believe it's important to give something back to both the club and the community. We have chosen Mind as we are passionate about the importance of good mental health for everyone. All donations will be split 50:50 between Mind and UCLBC.
Mind aims to change public attitudes and government policy towards mental health whilst raising awareness. They also continue to ensure that everyone with a mental health problem has somewhere to turn for advice and support. The money raised from this event will help them to continue with their vital work. Any support you can give would be greatly appreciated.
UCLBC is a student-run Boat Club, giving over 100 UCL students the opportunity to row and compete across the country. The funds raised will go towards much-needed boat maintenance and repairs and provide coaching for students.
