Hi everyone, my name is Bahar and in October 2026, I will be running the Budapest Marathon as a Challenge Leader to raise funds and awareness for the Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF).

Meningitis is a serious infection that causes inflammation of the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord. Every year, there are almost 2.3 million cases of meningitis around the world. 1 in 5 survivors will live with lifelong disabilities including hearing loss, brain damage, intellectual and developmental disability and epilepsy.

It can affect anyone, but it develops suddenly and can become life-threatening within hours. Early diagnosis and treatment save lives, which is why raising awareness and supporting research is so important. The MRF does incredible work to fund vital research, raise awareness, and support those affected by meningitis.

This challenge is not just about pushing myself outside of my comfort zone, it's about making a difference too! Every donation, big or small, will help me reach my target and support Meningitis Research Foundation's important work.
