Hi, my name is Alexandra, and I’ve signed up for the UK Kilimanjaro 2026 Student Challenge starting on August 25, 2026. I’m raising £4,970 in support of Amnesty International. Their work is more important than ever, and their leadership in confronting abusive immigration detention by ICE and mass incarceration, along with their work in gun violence prevention, is particularly meaningful to me

I’ve found an incredible community through time spent outside, and being able to hike and explore nature is one of the greatest privileges of my life. Through 4-, 14-, and 16-day expeditions, I’ve learned how to push myself beyond what I thought was possible. I was constantly forced to adapt to uncertainty and face challenges with resilience on my expeditions through the Utah Desert, Colorado Rockies and Presidential Range.

I take every opportunity I can to be outdoors, whether that’s swimming in Lake Michigan during the school year at UChicago or hiking in Washington, Connecticut over the summers. Nature constantly humbles me and reminds me of how much we take for granted, what was here before us, and what will be here long after we're gone.

Climbing Kilimanjaro is my next expedition and will likely be the most challenging yet! The challenge is a way for me to honor everything I’ve learned while supporting Amnesty International’s vital work. Every donation, big or small, helps me get closer to my goal and make a real difference!
