Story
Hi! I’m Laura, and in August 2026 I’ll be taking on the incredible challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro as part of the UK Kilimanjaro 2026 Student Expedition, starting on Thursday 27th August 2026.
I’m doing this not only to push myself far outside my comfort zone but also to raise vital funds for Amnesty International UK — a charity that fights for human rights, equality, and justice all around the world. My fundraising goal is £5,000, and every single donation, big or small, will help me get there and make a real difference.
This challenge is especially close to my heart. Almost 30 years ago, my mum climbed Kilimanjaro herself — an experience she has always spoken about with such pride and joy. Sadly, in the last year my mum has since been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and knowing the strength, courage, and determination she’s shown through everything makes this climb even more meaningful to me.
In a way, this journey feels like following in her footsteps — not just up the mountain, but through life’s biggest challenges. I’ll be carrying her inspiration with me every step of the way.
By donating, you’re not only supporting an amazing cause but also helping me honour my mum’s legacy and the values she’s passed on — resilience, compassion, and the belief that one person can make a difference.
Thank you so much for your support — it truly means the world to me. 💛
