A team of Imperial College London students are taking on Mount Kilimanjaro, the world's tallest free standing mountain, to raise money for Street Child.

Story

Hi everyone!

My name is Shaan, and I’m an Economics student at Imperial College London. This year I am partnering with StreetChild UK to raise a target of £4,970 as part of the 2026 Kilimanjaro Challenge, and I couldn't be more excited.

Education is a given for many of us, yet over 250 million children worldwide are currently out of school, often due to poverty, conflict, or disaster. StreetChild UK works to change this reality. Their projects support vulnerable youth across sub-Saharan Africa (and beyond) by building schools, training teachers, and providing safe spaces and resources where they are needed most.

This expedition represents a major step outside my comfort zone. But that’s exactly why I’m doing it. I am taking on this challenges to push myself while supporting a cause that truly matters. In addition to a series of fundraisers on my university campus, I will also be running a total of 500KM in StreetChild's merch to spread awareness of their cause.

Every donation, no matter the size, brings our Team one step closer to changing lives, long after the summit is reached.

Thank you so much for your support! Have a fantastic day.

Shaan
