Story
Hi, we’re Sam and Ade, and in 2026 we’re taking on two huge challenges together to raise money for Meningitis Research Foundation.
Over the last few years, we’ve taken on joint fundraising challenges to support charities including Alzheimer’s Society and Cancer Research UK. This year is a little different - instead of one shared challenge, we’re each pushing ourselves in our own way, but with the same goal, raising as much as we can for an incredible cause.
Meningitis has been in the news a lot recently, and it’s a reminder of just how serious and devastating this disease can be. It can affect anyone, at any time, and the impact on individuals and families is life-changing. That’s why the work of Meningitis Research Foundation is so important, funding research, raising awareness, and providing vital support.
In August, Sam will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, tackling a demanding six-day trek to the highest summit in Africa. It’s an incredible challenge, pushing through altitude, tough terrain, and long days of hiking, pushing mind and body with a small team from Bristol Uni all supporting each other.
In April, Ade will be running the London Marathon, one of the most iconic endurance events there is. 21 weeks and 800km of training, discipline and sheer determination will all come together over 26.2 miles through the streets of London.
Every donation, big or small, will make a real difference for MRF's amazing work. Thank you so much for your support.
