Story
Hi, my name is Ben (yes that Is a photo of baby me), and in August 2026 I’ll be taking on one of the biggest challenges of my life, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest free standing mountain in Africa, as part of the UK Kilimanjaro 2026 Student Challenge.
Over the course of the expedition, I’ll be trekking to nearly 6,000 metres above sea level, facing freezing temperatures and blazing heats, exhaustion, and some of the toughest conditions I’ve ever experienced. But every difficult step will be for something far bigger than the climb itself. Training for Kilimanjaro has already pushed me far outside my comfort zone, and the climb itself will be even harder, but knowing it’s for such an important cause will keep me going all the way to the summit.
I’m raising £4,970 for Meningitis Research Foundation, a charity dedicated to defeating meningitis by funding lifesaving research, raising awareness, and supporting those affected by this devastating disease.
Meningitis can change lives in a matter of hours. By supporting this challenge, you’re helping fund work that could protect families, improve treatment, and ultimately save lives.
Every donation, no matter the size, genuinely makes a difference and brings the Meningitis research foundation one step closer to beating the disease.
Thank you so much for your support, it truly means a lot.
