Story
To date we have rescued and cared for 100's of children in desperate transitional situations and we are permanently fostering 36 children in 5 family homes.
We have arranged Ukuthemba fundraiser functions in South Africa and London for the past 10 years but we are always in need of funds and would like to broaden the net to people who can’t attend our event but would like to support our cause via Just Giving.
We have taken on the responsibility of enriching and educating the lives of children permanently. Our model has proved a great success and we are making progress in leaps and bounds with a bevy of bright young kids navigating their way through very normal childhoods, being loved, cuddled, listened to, educated and nurtured under the watchful eyes of the guardians we employ to guide them and keep them safe.
The Mission: to deliver good people into society with the core memories of a happy childhood.
Like every normal family we do everything we can to provide a cosy family environment for our children with great emphasis on the best local education available, extra lessons and extra mural activities.
We are constantly raising money to pay the rent for 5 houses in Cape Town. Monthly costs include food, clothing, transport, education, electricity, water, extra lessons, sports, books. This is an ongoing monthly amount of money which has to be paid without fail.
In the interim our quest to raise funds continues and we are reliant on the generosity of our supporters.
We are a success story with a fantastic track record - the funds raised reaching the children for which they are intended and for this we are immensely proud.
We are however in urgent need of funds to maintain the lives of our children and the wonderful people who care for them. Sadly in the world we live in , this need will never wain and we as mothers, father, sisters and brothers owe it to humanity to help improve and create a fair and just society we can all be happy to live in.
So please dig deep and help us to try to make this a better world for those who can’t defend or fend for themselves.
