Rainbow Trust Children's Charity is our Charity of the Year for 2018/19.

Story

Three work colleagues have temporarily lost their minds and will be hoping to find them again at the finish line of the 'Race to the Stones' ultra-marathon on the 13th July.

We are each running the entire 100km (62 miles in old money) route, equivalent to 2.5 marathons, in a single non-stop effort and will be sticking together to help each other through every step. On the way we will be raising money for the inspirational Rainbow Trust foundation.

The team consists of:

  • Steve "Glass Knees" Garrett
  • Stephen "Mid Life Crisis" Reynolds
  • Rich "Bought a £500 watch just to Strava this" Dutton

The Race to the Stones is a classic British ultra, taking runners along the Ridgeway, Britain's oldest road. Humans have walked the length of the Ridgeway for over 5,000 years. Now it’s time for three middle aged IT professionals from the second floor to follow in their footsteps.

A massive thank you in advance to any would be sponsors!

Rainbow Trust enables families who have a child with a life-threatening illness to make the most of their time together; providing expert practical and emotional support, where it is needed, for as long as it is needed; from diagnosis, through treatment and beyond.Rainbow Trust pairs each family with a dedicated Family Support Worker who becomes a trusted and constant person in family life, supporting in the home, at hospital and in the community.Their work is almost entirely self-funded, so it is only with the help of supporters like yourselves, that they are able to raise the funds to care for more families needing support.£23 pays for an hour of support, providing enough time to entertain a seriously ill child so their parents can have a break.£161 pays for a day's visit from a Family Support Worker which allows parents to leave the house or simply sleep.£552 pays for an hour of bereavement support for six months for a family from an expert Family Support Worker.
