I love to run.

Sometimes it hurts a bit and the further I run, the more it hurts. Sometimes.

The pain of long distance running is nothing compared to the pain endured by cancer sufferers, and the friends and family of those affected by the disease. At my age, like most of us, this now includes numerous close friends and family. Some have lost loved ones who were far too young. We all know people like this, but for me there have just been too many in the last few years.

So this year, 5 years on from my last charity running challenges I have decided to "up my game" and run 2 hard, long and hilly "Ultra distance" running races in support of the charities that I believe in.

The first of these, on May 20th, is called the "Jurassic Quarter" and covers 46 miles on the South West Coast Path between Portland and Old Harry Rocks in Dorset. Those Jurassic Coast cliffs are very tough. I know this as I ran this race's baby sister over 33 miles from Lulworth Cove in December 2016.

Obviously it didn't quite hurt enough...so please help me raise £100 for every mile that I will be running in May, by donating a little bit to Cancer Research UK.
