In 2016 my wife was diagnosed with a very aggressive Breast Cancer. She had the most amazing treatment throughout her illness due to the care of Velindre Cancer Centre and their local outreach centres. Thankfully, with Velindre's expert treatment and assistance she has recovered and is coming up 5 years cancer free. Whilst Velindre receives funding from the NHS, it is not enough for them to give the absolutely amazing care, support and assistance to cancer patients and their families. For example, the specialist nurses are not funded through the NHS, but are funded using the funds raised by Velindre Fundraising. We want to be able to ensure that every cancer patient and their family has the opportunity to benefit from their services, which is why we are supporting Velindre as our chosen charity.
