UNW Cycle Challenge · 5 July 2014

Our objectives are: The relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage, through the provision of specialist services and facilities that relieve such needs and promotes independent living. The promotion of the voluntary sector , in particular but not limited to, volunteering. We have been established since 1994 and look forward to supporting many more people in the community. Our aim is to listen to our beneficiaries and to offer support that they need.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are proud to be supporting Caring Hands in their mission to sustain the independence and quality of life of older and disabled people living in the East End of Newcastle, through the active support of local volunteers.  They provide a wide range of services including laundry collection and delivery, lunch club, small aids, handyman, first stop and welfare benefits advice.

UNW Cycle Challenge 2014 - Saturday 5 July 2014

This year a courageous team of 15 cyclists have set ourselves the challenge of covering the 80+ miles from Tynemouth to Holy Island in one day, with the added test of having to beat the tide and get across the causeway in time.  This is a reverse of last year's route in attempt to avoid a difficult headwind and here's hoping the summer months will bring southerly winds to the North East coast.

Many thanks for your support.
