November is stomach cancer awareness month.
Stomach Cancer is the 5th most commonly diagnosed cancer around the world, and the 3rd leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide.
Throughout November we will be aiming to raise the profile of this disease whilst also raising some money for the Oesophageal Patients Association (OPA)
The OPA is an organisation set up by patients for patients. Their mission is to improve survival and quality of life of patients diagnosed with oesophageal and gastric cancer by increasing awareness and encouraging early diagnosis by providing support and information throughout the journey
All of the Upper GI team at Manchester University Foundation Trust, including Consultants, CNS's, Staff on Ward 11&12 and previous patients are working together to pedal the distance from Lands End to John O'Groats and back again (approximately 2000 miles) All from the comfort of ward. We have a static bike and we will be pedalling daily to achieve this throughout November.
Please help us to achieve our goal by donating whatever you can, or even calling up to the ward and working up a sweat.
Do you have the Stomach for it??
