STARS works together with individuals, families and medical professionals to offer support and information on Syncopes and Reflex Anoxic Seizures

Story

On the 11th May 2013 a motley crew of UrbanEdge diehards are taking on the largest assault course on Earth within the grounds of England's finest Elizabethan country estate.  We're taking on the Half Mucker, 13 miles and 150 obstacles are all that stand between us and your charitable donation!  We are going to get wet, muddy and exhausted and we'd like you to spur us on.

Darren Hodgson, Chris Roberton, Julie Gay, Anthony Mackin, Jez Power and Joshua Rowley are deep in training (some more than others) for this tortuous cross county extravaganza across, land, lake and amongst the trees!

For this event we're raising money for the charity STARS - Syncope Trust and Reflex Anoxic Seizures.

STARS is an international charitable organisation offering information and support to anyone affected by unexplained loss of consciousness, blackouts, transient loss of consciousness, and syncope. The overall aim of the charity is to ensure that anyone presenting with unexplained loss of consciousness receives the correct diagnosis, the appropriate treatment, informed support and sign posting to the appropriate medical professional. It is hoped that greater public and professional awareness will aid early and correct diagnosis of the condition and allow people to lead a more normal life.

The charity was nominated by our colleague Chris Robertson, whose wife suffers from the condition, and therefore the charity is close to his heart.

We've decided to take on this mammoth challenge in order to help Chris raise money for STARS and make a worthwhile contribution.  So we'd like you to dig deep in your pockets and give us that extra incentive to take on this massive physical and mental challenge.

We thank you for every penny you donate
