Story
2020 was meant to be the big one, but Covid put a stop to that, so here we are again!!
I've taken part in loads of events over the years, but the London Marathon has always been the big one. Every year I go to cheer and get completely overwhelmed with the commitment the charities and the runners all put in.
Well this time it's my turn!
And just because that's not enough, I'm going to try and complete The London Classics - The London Marathon, Ride 100 and Swim Serpentine.
And even more importantly I'll be doing the whole thing representing Rethink Mental Illness - I wouldn't have done it for anyone else so I'm honoured to part of their team.
Mental health is something that we've all started to talk about, but we need to do more to show that it's ok to talk about mental illness. If it's now acceptable to talk about our low mood or the stress we feel without feeling judged, why do we still feel afraid to talk about about the medication we take to manage our conditions or the time we need to take off work to prevent relapse.
So I'm reaching out for your help in my quest to raise vital funds and awareness for Rethink Mental Illness, who are working tirelessly to ensure that people severely affected by mental illness have access to the services and support needed to stay happy and healthy.
It's going to be tough but with all your support, I can smash this.
Thanks lovely people,
Ursula
