Walk Down Memory Lane · 26 May 2019
Ustinov College, Durham University is raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society! On the 26th of May, we are organizing a "Walk Down Memory Lane". Students and members of the local community will collectively aim to run or walk 50 km in 1.5 hours. We are aiming to raise as much money as possible for this worthy cause and so we are kindly asking for your sponsorship to spur us on to achieve our target!
All contributions, no matter how big or small, are greatly appreciated and will make a huge difference to the support given to those affected by Alzheimer’s.
Why are we doing this?
Monday 20th May until Sunday 26th May marks Dementia Action Week- a week that unites individuals, workplaces and communities to take action and improve the lives of people living with dementia.
Every three minutes, someone in the UK develops dementia. This means almost all of us knows someone affected by the disease. Dementia doesn't just affect old people but is increasingly affecting younger people as well. Currently, there is no cure for dementia despite heavy efforts by scientists and doctors.
Memories are some of the most important things we have and the architecture of our identity. The Alzheimer’s Society thus needs YOUR help to find a cure and effective treatment.
This JustGiving page is your opportunity to support our efforts despite the distance. You are more than welcome to support the cause and help us help others. All contributions, regardless of size are greatly appreciated and will make a huge difference!
