Refuge opened the world’s first refuge in West London in 1971. We support thousands of women & children every day, experiencing domestic and sexual violence, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, stalking, trafficking, prostitution & so-called ‘honour’ based violence.

Story

While in lockdown or self-isolation, people are likely to be spending concentrated periods of time with perpetrators, potentially escalating the threat of domestic abuse and further restricting their freedom. This has caused domestic abuse related deaths to rise from 2 per week to 5, and is making it increasingly difficult for victims to reach out and get the help they so desperately need.

Refuge supports thousands of people a day, experiencing domestic and sexual violence, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, stalking, trafficking, prostitution & so-called ‘honour’ based violence.

We are raising money to help Refuge save and change the lives of thousands of women and children escaping domestic violence. Please help us save a life. Thank you.
