Peter's Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc page

Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc · 28 August 2015
Thanks for taking time to visit my just giving page. I am attempting to raise an ambitious £5000 for Self Help Africa to help them in their efforts to tackle the root causes of hunger and famine across the continent. This could help transform the lives of 400 families; by providing seeds, training for farmers, treadle pumps, improved breed-goats and business loans.
To encourage sponsorship I will be taking on two suitably ambitious challenges in the run up to my 50th Birthday in September:
The Eiger Ultra Trail on July 18th 2015
A 101km circuit of The Eiger in Switzerland with a total height gain and loss of 6700m in one continuous push of 26 hours or less. This will be the biggest vertical height gain I have attempted in single push. I need to both complete this race and not to break myself in the process in order to be fit to run again in 6 weeks.
The Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc on August 28th 2015
A complete tour of the Mont Blanc Massif, passing through 3 countries: France, Switzerland and Italy. Starting from Chamonix, with 168km, 9600 metres of positive height gain and loss within 46 hours.
It has taken me 2 years of running qualifying races simply to be able to enter this race which is one of the most iconic ultra distance trail running races. I am by no means certain of completing this as this will be beyond anything I have attempted before.
Please donate if you can and follow if you are interested.
