Waste is a huge crisis– poisoning our planet, oceans, harming wildlife and destroying human lives, especially children’s.

Tearfund is supporting slum communities in Pakistan to set up community recycling hubs and training local people to collect, sort and recycle waste safely. As well as improving the health of local people it will significantly reduce the amount of waste washed into rivers and oceans. I want to help Tearfund in this and would appreciate it if you could support me.

The money I raise for Tearfund's Pakistan Appeal will help Tearfund transform lives in countries where the need is greatest. Funding will be used to tackle waste around the world. In Pakistan, for example, this funding will support our partners to set up innovative recycling hubs in some of the poorest slum communities. These hubs will help tackle plastic pollution, provide sustainable livelihoods and improve peoples health and living conditions.Every £42  could provide waste collection for a family making their local environment cleaner and safer. All donations made by 17 May will be doubled by the UK Government Aid Match scheme - meaning even more people can be helped and even more plastic prevented from reaching the rivers and oceans.
