EDIT: I MADE IT!!! 5H 46' 05"
--------------
I have always been a sofa sportswoman in my life. Too much effort, especially when a bull in a china shop is more co-ordinated than you.
Two years ago, however, when I was still relatively new in the UK and discovered how strongly this country supports running for good causes, I had my husband by my side. We saw the advert for the Great Manchester Run (10km) 3 months before the date and decided to give it a go. But I needed more motivation, so I raised £150 for Cancer Research UK.
Today I'm everything but an athlete - however, I have an experience of several 10k races and 3 half marathons + all Races for Life in Nottingham and Loughborough in the last years, so I feel up and ready for the big challenge!
I have never met my two granddads because of cancer, but I am lucky to have my lovely and strong father-in-law with me, who survived thanks to early diagnosis and advanced therapies. At the same time, I am aware of how strong is the need to help the research, being a biomedical researcher myself.
So please, please help me keep going by making any - even small - donation to Cancer Research UK. Because, as Race for Life's partner Tesco says, every little helps.
Don't forget to add Gift Aid
If you're a UK taxpayer, please remember to tick the Gift Aid box as this will increase your donation by at least 25% at no extra cost to you.
