Tropical Cyclone Idai has ripped through Mozambique, leaving a trail of destruction in its path. Media reports suggest that sadly more than 1,000 people are feared dead, and the death toll is rising. Thousands of families have been left homeless with countless houses and schools being destroyed. As water systems become contaminated, there is increased likelihood of an outbreak of waterborne diseases like cholera, which if left untreated, can be fatal.
