Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year has been very challenging for everyone including the Captains of York Golf Club.  They have had very little opportunity to raise funds for their chosen charity, St. Leonards Hospice.  We would like to show our support for them and their very worthwhile cause by walking approximately 7 miles from our club to the city.

Our Lady Captain, Carolyn, worked for many years as a nurse at St. Leonards and knows first hand how wonderfully caring this Hospice is and how much it relies on charity fundraising to be able to provide a much needed service.  She has only recently retired and in choosing St Leonards as her charity this year hopes to raise lots of money.

Several of our club members still work or volunteer at the Hospice and most of us have reason to be grateful for the care and support received there for relatives and friends.

Many fund raising plans have had to be cancelled so we are making extra efforts to think of alternative ways to raise the much needed funds.  In fact the actual Midnight Walk was a casualty and all walkers have been asked to plan their own group and walk as we have.

Thirteen of us will be taking part - we may be reasonable golfers but hope our stamina holds out and we complete the walk in good time.

We have plans to add to the fun and the challenge which will be revealed later.

Please make a donation to help us raise funds for this wonderful charity.

Thank you for your support which is hugely appreciated.
