Story

Hi - My name is Val...

Yesterday (8th September) I walked 8 miles for Macmillan. It was a nice walk in Bowood Estate but tiring after returning from holiday late the previous night. I am so pleased that I did it and I feel fine today.

Please help me raise some more pounds for this charity now that I have succeeded by donating to my page.... AND many many thanks to all those who have already contributed.

You can read some more about my story in the attached newspaper article or in the summary below.

Cancer for anyone is a hard journey. I was diagnosed 2 years ago with breast cancer and with the help of many wonderful doctors, nurses and support staff I am now in remission.

I have even met some people during the treatment who have become good friends - so every cloud has a silver lining.

The aftermath of cancer is also hard for people. The simple parts of getting fit and healthy again - walking, going out again with people regularly etc etc. I am now happily busy with work and play. The play parts are choir, walking, getting my overgrown garden back to normal, yoga, to name a few things.

I am a very positive person and my friends and family have been very supporting but some people are not as lucky as I am. So please donate to help me raise funds for Macmillan. Macmillan support people during and after their treatments together with helping their families.
