Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page in memory of Valerie who passed away on Saturday 26th November 2011 following a long and courageous fight against illness.

Val was a much loved wife to John, mother to Dawn, Robert and Natalie, grandmother to Joseph, Emily, Thomas, Jessica and Laila and sister to Gerald. As well as a beloved aunt and special friend to many.

Diagnosed with the debilitating Dermatomyositis almost 20 years ago she continued to fight until the end never once complaining about the hand that life had dealt her and unselfishly putting her family first in everything she did. 

A service for Val will be held at St Mary's church, Great Yarmouth on Friday 16th December at 1.30pm.  All who knew Val are welcome to attend.

We would request that no flowers are bought in tribute to Valerie, but that instead a donation is made to the Myositis Support Group. The charity provide advice and support to individuals and their families affected by Dermatomyositis, Polymyositis, Inclusion Body Myositis and Juvenile Dermatomyositis.  They also raise funds and promote medical research to improve diagnosis, treatment, management and understanding of these rare illnesses.
