For the past seven years, I have volunteered for a fabulous charity called Acton Homeless Concern and for the past two, I have been involved in many of their fundraising efforts.

The Charity
The Damian Centre supports around 150 people every day - offering breakfast, lunch, drinks, sandwiches and shelter 5 days a week. They provide clothes, counselling, medical services, advice and safety for people who are homeless, hard-up, mentally ill or just down on their luck. In the past year, the number of visitors to the centre has increased by a staggering 30 per cent - showing the scale of the problem in London.

My Challenge
After doing 'my bit' for the past two years, I've now decided to make this a personal focus for the next twelve months. I have set myself a target of raising £10,000 for this wonderful charity. This is no easy challenge and to reach it, I will need all the help I can get!

Not more requests for money...
I fully appreciate the number of requests you must get for any number of worthy causes and I'm well aware that for many, it's been a tough year. Still, I'm hopeful that as you're reading this and you've logged onto Just GIving, I've pretty much convinced you to donate a few quid.
