This year I will be taking part in The Blaydon Race on 9th June, The Great North 10k in July and The Great North Run in September to raise money for MPN Voice. 

Let me guess...you've never heard of MPN? Well, neither had we until about a year ago. MPN stands for Myeloproliferative neoplasms, a rare form of blood cancer which affects around 520 people in the UK per year.      

Why raise money for MPN Voice? Well, after giving blood , Mr S was asked to take part in a lab trial and the results that came back would change his life and become the start of his MPN journey.

Following many tests and appointments,  he was told he had Essential Thrombocythaemia (ET), a form of MPN which means he has too many platelets (these are made in your bone marrow - the soft material inside your bones). This is the type of blood cell involved in blood clotting.  

The charity MPN Voice funds research into myeloproliferative neoplasms and supports patients, their families and healthcare professionals via education and advocacy. Please help me give a little back.
