I have decided to go on Pilgrimage,
and would greatly appreciate your support.
The Rector and Church Wardens of St George's, Hanover Square (where I am verger) have very kindly granted
me a three-month sabbatical during which I plan to walk the “Camino”, the pilgrim route from St Jean de Pied de Port in the Pyrenees to
Santiago de Compostela, a journey of some 500 miles. This should
take about 40 days (the same length as Lent.), averaging 12.5 miles a day (blisters permitting) and staying at pilgrim refuges every night. I leave on Monday 24th May.
You can support me in the following ways:-
1. By keeping me in your thoughts and prayers.
2. By sending me your name to be written in a book
which I will leave in the Cathedral at Santiago for your personal petitions.
3. By pledging an amount for every mile I cover. A penny pledged will generate £5.00. Ten pence pledged will produce £50.00, one pound - £500.00, two pounds - £1,000.00 and so on.
Every penny of what is raised in this way will go to
the St George’s Hanover Square Foundation as I am
financing the trip myself. The Foundation is currently funding the repair, restoration and refurbishment of the church and the purchase of a new organ.
Best wishes and God bless you.
