Music in Hospitals & Care is a charity that improves the health and wellbeing of children and adults through the healing power of live music. Every year, our professional musicians share live music with people from across the UK, who may not otherwise get to experience it.

Story

As you might remember, last academic year I took part in an ABRSM grade-1-athon to raise money for Sistema Scotland. To fundraise, we were sponsored to do the challenging task of learning a brand new instrument (I chose percussion) and take the grade 1 exam. Together as a group of UofG music students we managed to raise nearly £2000!

I am very excited to continue my fun marimba journey and am now challenging myself to learn some Grade 5 pieces to perform in our showcase at the end of this semester, this time raising money for Music in Hospitals & Care. This UK based charity give personalised musical performances to people in hospitals and care as a way of reaching out to them. For more information, please visit their website (https://mihc.org.uk/).

Any donations at all, no matter how small, would help this wonderful charity fulfil their mission to make a difference.
