Story
All next week, many of us at Airwalk are raising money for London Youth Rowing (LYR). Its annual event is Race The Thames. My teammates and I are running, cycling, swimming, and rowing the length of the river.
I didn't realise that the Thames is so long (346km). There are seven of us in the team. 346 divided by seven is.... what? 49.4km. So, I figure that If I run, give or take, 10km a day from Monday to Friday, then I deserve a a long lie down.
Our team's fund-raising target is £400. Divide that by seven teammates means that I need to raise £58. It's a great cause. LYR programmes are in London and Leeds. The organisation provides young people from disadvantaged backgrounds with the opportunity to take part in rowing, giving them the benefit of participating in the sport and helping them to fulfil their potential.
I will be very happy if you can spare a few quid. Any amount will be fabulous.
Wish me luck.
Yikes, eek, and omg what have I signed up to? xx
