Lands end John O'Groats · 1 June 2019

Today, 1,890 babies will be born in Malawi. 320 will become orphans. 87 will die before their first birthday from malnutrition or illness. We’re the only organisation in southern Malawi able to feed, house and care for these babies and support their return to their communities.

Story

Thanks for taking time to visit my JustGiving page.

3 years ago I did my first trip to Malawi and I was blown away by the beauty of the people and the country. I was also shocked by the poverty and need of many. I was with a group of mums from George Watson's College who visited projects supported by the school's pupils trip. One of these projects is Open Arms infant care home.

By supporting Open Arms you are providing medical attention, shelter, food and love to some of Malawi’s orphaned and abandoned children. Your donations allow the children the chance to grow up with the love of a family and the security of a home until they are fit enough to return to their communities.

Open Arms is supported by the Watson's Malawi Partnership (WMP). The WMP was created in 2018 to draw on the resources of the school and wider community to support projects in Malawi covering health and wellbeing, education, sports and culture, and the environment (@GWC_Malawi).

I'm was hoping to raise £495, that's 50p per mile but due to the enormous generosity shown by everyone so far my target is now £990, that is £1 per mile!!

Thank you so much for your support!
