Story

A little bit about myself.

I am a newly 40 year old 21 stone male (newly 40 not newly 21 stone!). Exercise and me don't get on. In fact we hate each other.

I need to lose weight as a lot of my clothes no longer fit and I hate paying £40+ for a shirt at the fat mans' shop. I wanna be able to get into a pair of £4 jeans from TJ Hughes and they've stopped doing my size!

So I've joined the fat club at work and bought myself a shiny new bike. As it was purchased via the cycle to work scheme it would be rude not to ride it there.

Work is 14 miles away door to door. I normally get the bus. Well this summer I'm going to attempt to ride in. At first I'll be doing a little each day. As I live in Felixstowe and work in Ipswich I'll be cycling the old A45 route (Trimley, Levington, Felixstowe Road) but will be building things up slowly so on Friday August 20th I will be fit and ready to attempt the full 14 miles.

To aid me in my quest to lose a bit of weight and achieve the ride I, along with my very persuasive advertising director, have decided to embark on the above quest and help raise a few quid for Cancer Research UK in memory of our former colleague Jayne O'Donavan who passed away in 2009.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Please keep coming back to this page as I'll add a few photos of my shiny new bike and the complete unfit state I'm currently in!

You'll look at my photo and think "no way is that fat so and so gonna be able to ride 14 miles"

My aim is to prove you all wrong...........
