Thanks for taking the time to visit our Just Giving page.

On the 23rd of May 2010 Rob Harding, Mark Williams and Lee (Stato) Marks from Gloucestershire Association of Scooterists will be running the Edinburgh Marathon ! These people are in no way 3 finally tuned athletes taking in a regular marathon but 3 fat blokes who will be puffing and panting every step of the 26 miles and 365 yards.

A month later on the 18th of June 2010 the above and 3 other members of Gloucestershire Association of Scooterists will be embarking on a journey of epic proportions when they attempt to ride Vespa scooters around the coastline of mainland Britain. The journey is approximately 2700 miles long and we intend to cover it in just 8 days. We will be covering this distance by A roads and will probably need to ride for between 8 and 12 hours a day.

Day 1 From Stonehouse to Weymouth via Lands End

Day 2 From Weymouth to Gt Yarmouth

Day 3 From Gt Yarmouth to Melrose

Day 4 From Berwick to Dornoch via John O Groats

Day 5 From Dornoch to Oban

Day 6 From Oban to Morecombe

Day 7 From Morecombe to Tenby

Day 8 Tenby to Stonehouse (Home at last !)

Rob Harding, Paul Harris, Mark Willams and Tim Porter will be riding with Dave Workman and Lee Marks providing the essential support vehicle carrying camping equipment spare parts etc.

We are raising money for a school called The Shrubberies that caters for children with special needs and is essential to the local area.

So far we have secured some sponsorship from local businesses and are very grateful for their involvement. We would also like to encourage any other businesses that may like to assist.

PRH Car Body Repairs are supplying a van for the journey and have made an initial purchase of 1500 charity badges we are selling towards the fundraiser.

Fraser's Motorcycles of Gloucester have very kindly agreed to supply a new set of tyres and service for each of the Scooters before we leave. A very uesfull offer ensuring the scooters are in tip top condition before we embark.

Shearings Hotel Group have agreed to provide accommodation in Weymouth,Gt Yarmouth,Melrose,Dornch,Oban, and Morecombe. This is an extremely kind offer that will no doubt make the journey a little more pleasurable especially if we have another wet June !
