Story

WARNING ORDER

On the 4th June 1918, Cycle Messengers Jason King and Richie Nicoll will be given a very important, possibly war ending document with strict instructions to present to British Prime Minister who is in hiding at Veterans Garden Dumfries as soon as possible.

They are to set off ‘virtually’ under the cover of darkness from Pfetterhouse on the French/Swiss Border and make their way 717km, tracing just behind the Front line all the way to Dunkirk in the West. Safe havens will be provided at key stages of the mission of which will be divulged once the mission has started.

At Dunkirk, they will be met by undercover operators from the Veterans Garden, Dumfries who will stow them on a cargo ship bound for Dover.  Once on board the operators will ensure their safety and will collectively conduct a roving guard patrol for the 70km trip of
the trip into Dover.

Once in Dover the boys will again set off on the 660km trip to the Veterans Garden in Dumfries.  The boys will complete the last 25 miles from Gretna to Dumfries physically, escorted by outriders on
their motorcycles to ensure their safety, ending at the Gardens where they will hand their sensitive documentation over. Celebration are expected upon the news and Veterans and their families are requested to be present to welcome the outriders

ENDS

(The lads will be completing the task mainly on their exercise bikes and then will hopefully be clear (isolation dependant) on 10th July to complete the last stage of the operation by bike from Gretna to Veterans Garden where they will hand over the secret documents to the delegation - followed hopefully by beer and a barbeque again, covid dependant!)

It is hoped that we will have outrider support on the last leg and also alignment from the local cadet force helping throughout.
