Jurassic Coast Ultra Challenge 2023 · 13 May 2023 to 14 May 2023 ·

HBS Parents' Association is open to all HBS families and run by a group of parents/guardian volunteers. Our main purpose is to strengthen the school community by welcoming new families while supporting and maintaining the engagement of current families. We also try to assist the school with fundraising activities. In particular, we help the school by organising events and fundraising initiatives. In the past, the Parents' Association has helped the school fundraising efforts with specific projects, for example, we have recently contributed towards the refurbishment of the stairs from the Main Hall. We welcome new volunteers from all the class years, particularly from the new years. The PA's Organising Committee meets once or twice per semester and are always looking for additional help. Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Henrietta Barnett is the top grammar school in UK for girls (according to Sunday Times report 2023), which is renowned for its quality of education especially in the field of science, medicine and technology. Only top 100 academically gifted girls get admission in the school every year through a rigourous selection process and almost everyone lands up in Oxford, Cambridge and other top UK Universities every year. This is a state-run school, which gives free education to girls but is dependent on government grants and local fundrasing to run day to day affairs. In these tough economic times, school would need support to refurbish their library and other key investment to continue maintain quality standards.

I am leading a team of 15 parents, who are doing a fundraising charity trek (target £15,000) on 13th May in South Jurassic coast in UK to help the school. This will be a 34km (straightline) trek in a very challenging coast line which boasts of some very steep climbs. The trek itself is a 2nd most difficult Ultra-challenge in UK and we are training hard to ensure we all finish the trek in one-go on 13th May.

Any support big or small would go a long way to support this school, who is the beacon of hope for many girls who come from economically challenging backgrounds but want to make big in the field of science, medicine and technology.

Thanks once again for reading my story. Your best wishes and monetary contribution to support our trek is truly appreciated.
