We empower people with mental illness to live their best lives

Story

Business Manager for Vickerstock Recruitment, Brian Mitchell, will be running the Belfast City Virtual Half Marathon on Saturday 1st May in aid of local charity MindWise Northern Ireland.

Mindwise has always been a special charity for Brian and during his wedding in 2016, he and his wife Sarah-Ann made a donation to MindWise in lieu of favours.

Brian took up running just last year and decided to set himself a goal to participate in the half marathon over the May bank holiday weekend;

“For me personally, running has had a big impact on keeping my mental health in a good place during lockdown – I originally started running as a way to lose a bit of timber but I came to rely on it over the last 12-months as a way to clear my head. I’m delighted to be supporting such a worthwhile charity.”

We look forward to supporting Brian virtually and wish him all the luck in his half marathon.

We are MindWise. Our vision is a world where people affected by mental health issues receive support to lead to a fulfilling life through recovery to discovery. We deliver over 30 key services to more than 1000 people affected by mental health issues every day. We raise awareness and campaign for change. We provide advocacy and advice, and train workplaces to better understand and support good mental health.
