As a teacher I believe sport is important for children's health and mental well being.  However, I also feel introducing them to various sports, whether just participating or playing competitively, will hopefully give them a love for sport and enable them to enjoy sport and exercise in their adult lives too. So many of my school and child hood memories are about taking in sport activities such as running in the cross country team, playing netball and rounders throughout my primary and secondary education and just taking part in various sporting events. I was and still am, never the best, but sport keeps me fit and make me happy. 

As you will probably know I try to keep fit and active through running. Since taking up running again in  2015 my running journey as been through its ups and downs.  But I've kept plodding along and I feel humbled that by sharing my journey it has encouraged others to try to.  I haven't run these distances for a few years, so if you can sponsor me a couple of pounds rather than have that coffee, beer or wine I would really appreciate it.
