Lewy body dementia is the second most common cause of age-related dementia, affecting around 130,000 people in the UK. We raise awareness of the disease, provide information to patients and carers, and fund research so that in future it can be more easily diagnosed and treated.

Story

My husband, who was a super intelligent, funny and kind man has had his identity destroyed by this devastating illness.

He is now cared for in a nursing home, and will remain in care for the rest of his life.

Astonishingly, very few people have even heard of this form of dementia, despite the fact it is now known to be the second most common type of dementia and is perhaps the most difficult to manage.

More needs to be done to both understand this illness and improve the management -  perhaps even find a cure - for this awful condition.

I am committed to raising funds to help the Lewy Body Society achieve its goals.
