Macmillan are going all out to find ever better ways to help people with cancer, helping to bring forward the day when everyone gets life-transforming support from day one.
Santander and MacMillan are both fantastic companies and have helped me on my breast cancer journey.
I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in April 2021, and have been on an up and down journey since then. MacMillan have helped me with regular chats on the North Tees Chemo Unit, and the staff are amazing, they make you feel so at ease, and welcoming, and even gave me a cushion to rest my arms on whilst receiving my chemotherapy. I feel so privileged and grateful for everything they have done to help me on my journey, that I now want to give something back, which is where I would like your help please?
MacMillan is the only safe place I could go to when receiving my chemotherapy. Their knowledge, support and help is amazing, and I can't thank them enough.
So I currently have very numb feet, hands and tongue as a result of the side effects of chemo, however, this will not stop me from trying my absolute best in doing a sponsored 20 mile walk/cycle with my gorgeous 3 grandkids Lola (6 yrs old), Zachary (5 yrs old) and Sebastian (4 yrs old) on Sunday 21st August 2022. These three are the best medicine anyone could ask for, and I am so proud of them helping do this sponsored walk/cycle to raise money and help many others who are struggling and going through a cancer journey. Lola, Zac and Seb are so happy to help me and others too, as we really do care about helping everyone we possibly can.
My numbness causes some issues, and may be a permanent side effect I may have to live with for the rest of my life, but I am so positive and determined to do this and give something back to this amazing charity. I intend to walk half of the way (10 miles) and cycle the remaining half (10 miles) with my grandkids beside me helping me and encouraging each other all the way. That's what support means to me, and has done throughout my journey.
I appreciate all of your support in donating what ever you can to help me and my grandkids raise money for MacMillan, and give something back that is amazing. Thank you so much xxxx
