In memory of NED Price

It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.

Story

NED Price was an Iron man, GB Quadrathlete, keen Triathlete and a competed at all levels of canoeing throughout his life. After an unexpected terminal diagnosis in summer 2016 he suggested that many of his friends and family compete in the Sandman Triathlon, which was his favorite event in a long season of racing. The Sandman takes place in Anglesey, where his family live and he spent much of his free time, making the Sandman extra special. Although NED cannot compete with us, there is a large team of people racing in his memory, taking part individually or as teams in the sprint or olympic distances over the weekend. This will be a personal challenge for all of us, pushing ourselves to do further distances or taking part in our first tri, there are even two people learning to swim. The nature of pancreatic cancer means that once you have any symptoms it is far too late to treat effectively; therefore the money we raise will be donated to Pancreatic Cancer UK to help fund research and help other people with this disease.
