Action on Postpartum Psychosis supports women and families affected by Postpartum Psychosis (PP) across the UK. We provide information and peer support, facilitate research into PP, raise awareness of this rare yet severe postnatal mental illness and campaign for improved services.

Story

Vicky and Anya have chosen different charities and hope together to raise thousands, so have set a minimum target of £1500 each.

Vicky’s raising funds for Action on Postpartum Psychosis www.app-network.org,  a small charity for women and families affected by Postpartum Psychosis (PP)

PP is a severe mental illness which begins suddenly after childbirth. 1 to 2 in every 1000 mothers experience PP each year in the UK.   Most women make a full recovery but that journey can be long and difficult.

Whilst it’s as common as Downs Syndrome, stigma has surrounded PP, silencing sufferers and causing it to be poorly known about and little researched.

Vicky was introduced to APP by her gorgeous friend Tina & is very grateful to have not experienced  PP or anything similar when her sons were born.

Please donate whatever you can, every penny makes a difference (and will help keep us motivated as we trek through jungles, cross rivers, battle mosquitos and aching limbs as we trek Cambodia).
